In cooperation with the Union of Employers of Serbia and the Chinese Association of Businessmen, we organized the conference “Partnership for the Future: Meeting of Serbian and Chinese Businessmen” which was held in the conference hall on the 7th floor of the VIG Plaza building.
The President of the Stena Business Club, Aleksandar Bursać, and the President of the Guangdong Cantonal Chamber of Commerce for Serbia, Mrs. Atena, signed a cooperation agreement. This important step represents the beginning of the strengthening of economic cooperation between Serbia and China, creating new jobs and numerous opportunities for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and technologies.
“The signing of this agreement represents a significant step towards strengthening bilateral ties between our two countries.” We believe that this cooperation will bring mutual benefits and open numerous new opportunities, said the president” Aleksandar Bursać and added that the signed agreement is only the beginning of a very fruitful cooperation that will give rise to numerous projects and initiatives.
During the conference, Serbian and Chinese entrepreneurs presented new infrastructure and energy projects, the total value of which is several hundred million euros.
The president of the executive board of the Union of Employers of Serbia, Andreja Brkić, said that Serbia was actively working to attract foreign investors, with the support of the Union of Employers of Serbia.
“The signing of the Free Trade Agreement with China requires further improvement of our business environment.” This includes reducing bureaucracy, improving the efficiency of administration, strengthening the rule of law and ensuring the transparency and predictability of economic policies,” Brkić said. He also emphasized that the foreign trade exchange between the two countries amounted to 6.09 billion dollars, and that the export of food products to China represents an export opportunity for Serbia.
The president of the Cantonal Chamber of Commerce of the Guangdong region in Serbia, Atena, pointed out that Guangdong is the province with the largest economy in China, whose production and innovations lead the economy of the entire country. She added that the economy of Guangdong, if it were a country, would be the 12th largest economy in the world by GDP. Athena drew attention to the upcoming EXPO 2027, saying that during the holding of the international exhibition, Belgrade will become the center of world activity in innovation, which will significantly improve the flow of money to Serbia.

Also presented were the projects of members of Business Club Stena: Tempo Tower in Belgrade, Anđelković Parcele in Novi Sad, Probus Winery, East Gate complex, Satellite Resorts and ISTEP industrial zone in Sremska Mitrovica, with a total value of over two billion euros.
The conference was enriched by Cuban Ambassador Laid Ernest Rodríguez Hernández and Congolese Ambassador Joseph Kalala Mulamba, who supported the networking of Serbian and Chinese entrepreneurs. They discussed future investments, skills development and potential projects in Serbia. Also, the Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Cuba, Lt. Ernest Rodríguez Hernandez invited the two countries to participate in the international trade fair in Havana.
The conference gathered more than 130 businessmen from Serbia, China, Italy, Russia and Slovenia and proved to be productive for strengthening economic cooperation between Serbia and China and opening new opportunities for business development and innovation.
