It is with great pleasure that we announce the successful completion of our business visit to China, where key meetings, factory visits and cultural exchanges opened the door to the improvement of cooperation between Serbian and Chinese companies. Our trip, filled with meaningful discussions and industry insights, began with a warm welcome from the Deputy Governor and representative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Mr. Gao Tao. Since then, we have had the opportunity to explore wide opportunities for cooperation in the areas of production, technology and trade.
The delegation of our business club participated in the 5th China International Investment and Trade Fair organized by the Liaoning Provincial Government on the theme: Revitalization and Development of Northeast China and Opening to the Outside World at a High Level, held from September 25 to 30, 2024. This business visit enabled the representatives of our country to meet high officials of China, present Serbia at the global level and improve bilateral relations with Chinese businessmen and officials.
Key moments of the visit:
- Formal reception and introductory presentation
We started our trip with a ceremonial reception at the Deputy Governor’s house and a tour of the International Pavilion in Foshan. This was a unique opportunity to exchange ideas on expanding trade relations, with a special focus on innovation and sustainable solutions in different sectors.
- Ceremonial opening of the International Investment and Trade Fair
We participated in the opening ceremony of the International Fair for Investments and Trade, where our representative Nikola Vitas, Deputy Minister of Economy, gave a speech on behalf of global leaders, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation and investments. After the ceremony, we visited the Expo pavilion, where Danilo Rončević, director of the Personnel Management Service in the Government of Serbia, gave an inspiring speech at the opening of the pavilion with Serbian products. Rončević emphasized the importance of promoting Serbian brands on the global market and the potential that such exhibitions provide for increasing exports and strengthening economic exchange. We then visited the China-Germany Industrial Park in the Tiexi area, where we had the opportunity to learn about the innovations and technologies that are shaping the future.
- Investment forum
The delegation participated in the Investment Forum in Shenyang, where investment opportunities in Serbia were presented. This forum brought together government representatives, businessmen and investors from different countries with the aim of improving international economic cooperation and attracting foreign investments. The focus was on the energy, infrastructure and IT technology sectors. Nikola Vitas gave a presentation, highlighting the advantages of Serbia as an investment destination, as well as the favorable tax system and the state’s support for foreign investors. Contacts were established with several Chinese companies, including those from the field of renewable energy sources, which expressed interest in investing in Serbia. This forum represented a key point in the promotion of economic relations between Serbia and China.
- Visits to leading companies in the field of construction and mechanical engineering
Our delegation had the honor to visit Shandong Lingong Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (SDLG), a national high-tech company with a rich tradition since 1972. Specializing in the manufacture of loaders, excavators and road construction machinery, SDLG has played a key role in shaping the construction industry in China. They also visited Linyi Lingong Zhongtuo Machinery Co., Ltd., an important manufacturer in the field of machinery research and development within the Shandong Lingong Group.
- Industry visits and high level networking
The delegation toured key plants for the production of agricultural machinery and electric buses, gaining insight into China’s progress in both areas. We also enjoyed a gala dinner hosted by the mayor of Liaocheng, where discussions focused on strengthening cooperation at the municipal level between Serbia and China.
- Celebration with Serbian cuisine in Beijing
One of the many highlights of the trip was an unforgettable dinner at a Serbian restaurant in Beijing, where our team enjoyed familiar flavors and summed up the impressions from this successful and unforgettable trip in a pleasant atmosphere.
Throughout the trip, we not only strengthened existing relationships, but also explored new opportunities for cooperation in various industries. The visit resulted in a series of successful meetings and opened the door for further cooperation between Serbia and China. Participation in this prestigious fair provided an opportunity to promote Serbia as an attractive destination for investments and expand economic cooperation with China, especially in the sectors of infrastructure, technology, transport and agriculture.
